Notes

This data set runs from 06.09.2025 to 07.09.2025, covering a 30-day period. This data is for the 30 days prior to and including the publish date, not Year-to-Date. As the data points out, across Jerusalem and the West Bank, displacement has been trending upwards. This, of course, is by design.

This data only reflects administrative home demolitions in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. This doesn't include the mass demolitions of homes in the Gaza Strip, or in places like the Naqab or the Galilee.

First, a quick note

The Good Shepherd Collective for years has rejected large grants from neoliberal sources because of the way we have seen these grants impact the work of other organizations. Instead, we rely on individuals to finance our work here in Palestine. At this critical juncture, we’re asking supporters who are asking how they can support the work in Palestine to consider giving to the Good Shepherd Collective as we plan to expand our work and network with more data, resources, and tangible support for communities in Palestine. But we can’t do that without you. Consider becoming a monthly donor and giving $20 or $30 a month. Every bit helps. We know not everyone can afford $50 a month, but some have decided to give what they can, chipping in even $5 every month. Everything helps to move this work forward. Right now, we need you.

What the data says about ethnic cleansing

The scale of destruction in Gaza has reached catastrophic proportions, with April 2025 figures showing 174,486 structures affected by the ongoing aggression. Of these, 70,436 buildings have been completely destroyed, 18,588 severely damaged and rendered uninhabitable, and 51,962 moderately damaged. This represents the systematic destruction of homes, schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure across Gaza. The sheer magnitude – affecting nearly 175,000 buildings – has fundamentally altered Gaza's urban landscape and created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis for its population of over two million people. With all eyes on Gaza, the broader zionist movement has consolidated efforts in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. 2025 is on track to set new records for demolitions and mass forcible displacement. With the Israeli military carrying out 302 military operations to demolish homes and infrastructure in just the first half of the year, the projected total of 583 incidents would surpass 2024's 554 incidents, marking the highest year on record in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The current daily average of 1.61 military operations a day represents a significant escalation from historical norms. Before 2023, daily averages typically ranged between 0.27 and 1.18 incidents. The sharp increase began in 2023 (1.18 daily average) and accelerated in 2024 (1.51), with 2025 showing the highest rate yet.

Displacement patterns show similar intensification. The projected 2,485 people displaced in 2025 would represent more than double the typical annual displacement seen from 2010 to 2022. The 964 structures affected so far in 2025 already exceed the full-year totals for most years between 2009 and 2021.

This data reveals a clear pattern: demolition activities have intensified dramatically since 2023 — the start of the accelerated genocide in Gaza —  with operations becoming progressively more frequent and impacting an increasing number of people and structures each year. The consistent escalation across 2023-2025 represents a clear policy shift rather than temporary fluctuations, marking a fundamental change in the scale and intensity of these operations.
